Ubuntu 8.04 and ATI radeon mobility 7000 IGP
To day i could implement Compiz 3D effect on my old laptop, after weeks of trying.
although it maybe seems easy but i did it very accidentally.
The Recipe
1) open a terminal and type this:
sudo gedit /etc/X11/xorg.conf
2) in device section change value for driver to "Idntknow" for "i dont know!".
3)save it and close the editor.
4)restart your computer.
5)on the startup a error happens like "could not identify your graphic card." select manual configuration.
6) from there in the list of manufactures select ATI and in device name list select Radeon (fglrx).
7)click ok
8)restart your machine.
that's it. there is no 9!
it should work now.
